Role: Senior Product Manager – Payments & Risk Modernization

Location : Phoenix, AZ (Onsite/Hybrid acceptable if allowed by client)

Duration: 12+ months
Experience Required
:
5–8+ Years in Product Management (Senior/Lead level role)

  • Legacy System Migration, Workflow Consolidation, and Agile Product Delivery

  • Product Strategy for Payments & Risk Systems
  • Platform modernization (Simplification, consolidation, performance optimization)
  • Authorization systems & network-based risk decisioning
  • Agile product delivery and backlog prioritization

  • Strong understanding of cross-functional dependencies
  • Experience defining KPIs and tracking product success metrics

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and drive modernization opportunities, focusing on simplification, consolidation, performance improvements, and network-based risk decisioning enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Risk Technology, Network teams, Enterprise Architecture, Data Strategy, and Product Engineering to shape long-term platform capabilities.
  • Own the creation of product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, along with clearly defined success metrics for authorization and risk features.
  • Map and analyze legacy workflows, translating them into scalable target-state capabilities within new authorization systems or payment networks.
  • Lead end-to-end migration planning, including:
    • Dependency assessment
    • Sequencing and prioritization
    • Change-management strategy
    • Operational and system readiness
    • Cutover, fallback, and legacy system decommissioning
  • Drive agile execution through backlog prioritization, sprint planning, release strategy, and agile ceremonies.
  • Support migration phases including build, parallel testing, ramp-up, cutover, fallback planning, and decommission.
  • Partner closely with engineering and architecture leaders to ensure:
    • On-time delivery
    • High-quality releases
    • Compliance with architectural and security standards
  • Coordinate functional testing, performance validation, and end-to-end readiness assessments.
  • Define and track KPIs/KPIs/KPIs, using analytics to influence product decisions and measure success.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear business value.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5–8+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in:
    • Payments ecosystem
    • Risk platforms
    • Authorization systems
    • Platform modernization
    • Large-scale digital transformation or legacy migration
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional programs with complex dependencies
  • Strong experience working in Agile product environments
  • Ability to write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and success KPIs
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to define KPIs and influence decisions through analytics
  • Excellent stakeholder communication across engineering, product, architecture, and leadership teams
