Job Title: Senior Java API Modernization & AI Microservices Engineer (Developer Niche)
Location: Canton, MA (Onsite)

Job Description:
This senior role supports enterprise microservices migration and API modernization initiatives, leveraging AI-assisted development frameworks and cloud-native open-source architectures to transform legacy middleware workloads into scalable, secure, and high-throughput distributed services.
Must-Have Technical Skills
Legacy → Microservices Migration
- API modernization from TIBCO or equivalent legacy middleware platforms
- Transformation of legacy APIs into cloud-native microservices architectures
- API ingestion patterns: Batch, Streaming, and REST API enablement
Backend & API Engineering
- Hands-on experience with RESTful API design and service development
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, API contracts, and data orchestration
AI-Assisted Development & Frameworks
- Practical exposure to LangChain.
- LangChain and equivalent AI application frameworks (LangChain or equivalent)
- AI-assisted coding using GitHub Copilot
- Experience using AI-driven frameworks or accelerators for API service modernization
Containerization & Orchestration
- Hands-on with Docker containers
- Kubernetes-based workload deployments (native or cloud-hosted)
- Ability to assess CPU/Memory/HA/DR scaling strategies for microservices
DevOps & CI/CD Governance
- CI/CD experience with Git, GitHub Enterprise, or equivalent
- Understanding of automated build, merge, promotion, and deployment pipelines
- Infrastructure + application collaboration for cloud-native releases
Core Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for legacy API transformation and modernization
- Partner with the client architecture team to ensure design alignment, governance, and migration readiness
- Develop and document:
- High-level solution architecture
- Low-level API service designs
- Cloud-native microservices implementation blueprints
- Define AI-driven components and accelerate migration using AI-assisted tooling
- Design ingestion patterns (Batch, Streaming, REST) aligned to cloud-native best practices
- Create cost-optimized, disruption-free migration strategies including:
- Dependency assessment
- Migration sequencing
- Fallback planning
- Operational readiness
- Drive code merge governance using Git and AI-assisted development practices
- Reduce manual effort and improve delivery timelines through automation and AI-assisted code generation
- Propose creative, scalable, secure, low-cost architectural improvements
- Maintain proactive ownership and independent execution discipline
Nice to Have / Preferred
- Cloud deployment exposure (AWS/Azure/GCP is a plus)
- Observability, monitoring, or log analysis familiarity
- Prior experience working on enterprise API modernization programs
- Experience collaborating in globally distributed architecture teams
