Job Title: Senior Linux / Unix Administrator
Location: Bellevue, WA
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux / Unix Administrator to manage, support, and optimize enterprise Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in system administration, automation, security best practices, and performance tuning, while collaborating closely with cloud, storage, and infrastructure teams in hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, configure, and troubleshoot critical Linux/Unix services including:
DNS, NIS, LDAP
Altair Accelerator
IBM LSF
Perform kernel-level debugging, patching, upgrades, and system performance tuning.
Automate system administration and operational tasks using Ansible, Python, and shell scripting.
Ensure systems are secured and compliant with industry security best practices (CISSP-aligned controls).
Collaborate with cloud, storage, and infrastructure teams to support hybrid and on-prem deployments.
Monitor system health, availability, and performance; proactively identify and resolve issues.
Create and maintain documentation, operational procedures, and version control for installed software and configurations.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience as a Linux/Unix System Administrator in enterprise environments.
Hands-on expertise with Linux services such as DNS, NIS, LDAP.
Experience supporting Altair Accelerator and IBM LSF.
Proficiency in kernel-level troubleshooting, system patching, and performance optimization.
Strong automation skills using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
Solid understanding of security hardening and compliance best practices.
Experience working in hybrid infrastructure environments.
