Role: Enterprise Architect – Mobile (Onsite)
Location: McLean, VA

 

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Mobile Architect to define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of enterprise-grade mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms. This role combines strategic leadership, architecture governance, and hands-on development, with a strong emphasis on hybrid and native mobile application design, security, performance, and scalability.

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping mobile solutions that address complex business challenges, particularly within large-scale digital and BFS environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify business problem statements and propose innovative, scalable mobile solutions aligned with enterprise objectives.
• Define, own, and document mobile architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices across programs.
• Drive architecture governance, participating in design reviews and validating implementations across development teams.
• Ensure 100% compliance with defined architecture standards across all mobile projects.
• Lead the design and development of hybrid and native mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.
• Work hands-on in coding, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues when required.
• Design and implement integrations with backend systems, RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and third-party SDKs.
• Ensure applications meet strict performance benchmarks, including load time, stability, and resource efficiency.
• Oversee App Store and Play Store submission processes, compliance, and release readiness.
• Implement and enforce mobile security best practices, aligned with OWASP Mobile Top 10.
• Ensure apps are optimized for speed, memory usage, battery efficiency, and reliability.
• Drive quality standards to achieve:
• App load time ≤ 2 seconds
• Crash-free rate ≥ 99%
• Zero critical vulnerabilities in penetration testing
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Backend Engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical mentorship and leadership to mobile development teams.
• Translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Stay current with emerging mobile technologies, tools, and industry trends and drive innovation.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in mobile application architecture across iOS and Android platforms.
• Strong expertise in hybrid mobile development using Ionic Capacitor and Cordova.
• Strong proficiency in Swift (iOS) and Java (Android).
• Deep understanding of MVC, MVVM, and Clean Architecture principles.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and GraphQL.
• Strong knowledge of mobile security standards, including OWASP Mobile Top 10.
• Hands-on experience with App Store and Play Store submission processes.
• Willingness and ability to work hands-on in development and debugging.
• Strong experience with native mobile application development (critical for selection).
