Job Title: GCP Administrator
Location: Remote (Chicago, IL – Client Location)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced GCP Administrator to manage and support Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for user access management, security, resource provisioning, performance monitoring, cost optimization, and automation. This role requires close collaboration with DevOps and SRE teams to support deployments, ensure platform stability, and maintain compliance with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and manage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and services.
Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), including user roles, permissions, and access controls.
Provision and manage cloud resources such as compute, storage, networking, and databases.
Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Optimize cloud costs through resource utilization analysis, rightsizing, and cost controls.
Implement and maintain security best practices, policies, and compliance requirements.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks using Terraform, scripting, and GCP-native tools.
Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to support CI/CD pipelines and application deployments.
Maintain documentation for cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Ensure GCP environments align with business requirements and enterprise standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience as a GCP Administrator or Cloud Administrator.
In-depth knowledge of GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Monitoring).
Hands-on experience with IAM, security, and compliance in GCP environments.
Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools in GCP.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
