Title: SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) – FP&A Consultant
Location: Boston, MA

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance (FI/CO) Consultant with strong expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) processes. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on functional configuration experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to support complex global SAP Finance environments.

 

Key Competencies & Experience:

• 10+ years of overall SAP experience with strong focus on SAP Finance and Controlling
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA FI/CO modules
• SAP S/4HANA FI Certification preferred
• Extensive hands-on functional configuration experience (8–15 years) across:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Accounting (FI-AA)
• Cost Center & Profit Center Accounting
• Internal Orders
• Product Costing
• Account-Based COPA
• Special Purpose Ledger
• Bank Accounting
• Consolidations
• Taxes and US GAAP
• FI-MM and FI-SD integrations
• Business Partner configuration
• Strong understanding of end-to-end Record-to-Report business processes
• Experience with third-party integrations, including:
• OpenText VIM
• External Tax Engines
• Blackline
• Working knowledge of Standard SAP FIORI Apps
• Knowledge of ICMR reporting
• Ability to debug and analyze ABAP code for issue resolution
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify issues and recommend solutions

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions leveraging standard SAP functionality while maximizing ROI
• Translate business requirements into scalable SAP solution architecture with both short-term and long-term IT perspectives
• Provide global functional support for SAP Finance and Controlling modules
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure solution alignment
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical SAP Finance application issues
• Dive deep into existing configurations and custom ABAP code to determine enhancement needs
• Provide technical and functional leadership for complex SAP S/4HANA Finance system issues
• Support end users during month-end and quarter-end close cycles
• Provide functional support for:
• Reports
• Interfaces
• Enhancements
• Prepare functional design documents and detailed specifications for ABAP development
• Coordinate workload planning and manage onsite/offshore delivery teams
