Required Skills
- IT IS_AMS_Mainframe_CICS Administration (4–6+ years of experience)
Must-Have Technical / Functional Skills
- Deep knowledge of Mainframe System Automation tools such as IBM SA z/OS and CA OPS/MVS
- Strong experience handling migration projects (CA OPS/MVS → IBM System Automation and vice versa)
- Proficiency in REXX, CLIST, and NetView PIPE programming
- Experience in installation and configuration of z/OS systems
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in Mainframe System Automation tools including IBM SA z/OS and CA OPS/MVS.
- Work with other automation tools such as AF Operator and BMC Mainview AO (added advantage).
- Lead and support migration activities involving CA OPS/MVS and IBM System Automation.
- Develop and deploy automated solutions across the infrastructure to reduce manual tasks (automated IPLs, application recovery, auto-ticket generation, etc.).
- Support automation applications during upgrades/maintenance—z/OS upgrades, data center consolidations, CPU refreshes, etc.
- Maintain and enhance inherited client automation code; implement and support infrastructure-critical event management, remote console access, and paging.
- Manage automation tools’ functionality, design, integration, and implementation activities.
- Transform client automation environments to standardized toolsets; support multiple complexes/LPARs.
- Support infrastructure restore processes during DR activities and tests.
- Conduct feasibility studies and recommend mainframe automation solutions across all environments.
- Utilize strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and resolve issues.
- Apply ITIL processes for diagnostics and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Work independently or within a team to meet challenging deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotational basis for multiple customers.
