Title: Technical Lead / Technical Project Manager
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead / Technical Project Manager with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SRE, and DevOps to lead and deliver large-scale cloud projects. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on technical leadership with strong project management capabilities to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage large-scale cloud projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Define project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Create, maintain, and track detailed project plans, risks, and dependencies.
- Oversee daily project activities, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Identify, assess, mitigate, and resolve technical issues and project risks.
- Ensure projects meet defined technical specifications, quality standards, and SLAs.
- Act as a primary liaison between cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, security, and business stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates, metrics, and risk reports to technical and business leadership.
- Lead, influence, and motivate teams to drive successful outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Drive project execution using Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).
- Utilize Jira, Confluence, and related tools for planning, tracking, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes, including Change Advisory Board (CAB) workflows and incident management.
- Support continuous improvement through retrospectives and process optimization.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and architectural oversight across GCP services, including:
- Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- VPC, Cloud IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL
- Review and guide cloud architecture designs for scalability, security, and reliability.
- Lead SRE and DevOps practices to ensure system reliability, availability, and performance.
- Promote automation, monitoring, alerting, and incident response best practices.
- Support reliability engineering through SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
- Design, review, and guide Terraform-based infrastructure:
- Modular design, remote state management, dependency handling, and DRY principles.
- Lead CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimization using:
- Jenkins (Declarative and Scripted pipelines)
- GitHub Actions (YAML-based workflows)
- Guide design and implementation of GCP networking components:
- VPC Peering, Shared VPCs
- Firewall rules, Load Balancers
- Cloud DNS and VPN tunnels
- Ensure secure access control and network segmentation following best practices.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Deep expertise in DevOps and SRE practices.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Solid understanding of GCP networking and security.
- Experience managing Kubernetes workloads (GKE).
- Proven experience managing large-scale cloud programs or projects.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to lead, influence, and align cross-functional teams.
