Role Summary

We are seeking a Java & SQL Reporting Developer with hands-on experience in BIRT reporting, SQL query optimization, and Java/J2EE backend development. The ideal candidate will support reporting enhancements, backend fixes, data validation, and migration efforts while collaborating closely with QA and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting & Data Analysis

·         Design, develop, and enhance correspondence and reports using BIRT or similar reporting tools.

·         Analyze, debug, and optimize complex SQL queries used for reporting and data extraction.

·         Validate data accuracy and ensure alignment with business and functional requirements.

·         Support system validation and business acceptance testing during pre-production phases.

Backend Development & Integration

·         Integrate reporting solutions with Java/J2EE backend applications.

·         Perform backend development, enhancements, and bug fixes in Java applications.

·         Assist with DB2 to PostgreSQL query conversion when required.

Collaboration & Delivery

·         Work closely with QA teams and business stakeholders to resolve report-related issues.

·         Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and stand-ups.

·         Maintain technical documentation for reports, queries, and implemented fixes.

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications

·         1–3 years of hands-on experience with SQL (DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL).

·         Strong experience analyzing, modifying, and optimizing existing SQL queries.

·         Hands-on experience with Java or J2EE backend development.

·         Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

·         Exposure to reporting tools (BIRT preferred).

·         Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

·         Good communication and collaboration abilities.

Good-to-Have Skills

·         Experience with DB2 to PostgreSQL migration/conversion.

·         Basic exposure to Spring or Spring Boot.

·         Familiarity with Hibernate / JPA.

·         Experience using JIRA or similar tracking tools.

·         Understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.

·         Exposure to Public Services / Government domain projects.
