Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled MongoDB Engineer / Database Developer to design, optimize, and support high-performance MongoDB environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with schema design, performance tuning, aggregation frameworks, and building backend services using Node.js, Java, and Python.
Key Responsibilities
MongoDB Design & Optimization
- Design and implement MongoDB schemas, including effective document modeling strategies.
- Develop and manage indexing strategies to optimize query performance.
- Perform query optimization and performance tuning across large datasets.
- Utilize the MongoDB Aggregation Framework and manage database transactions.
Database Operations & Administration
- Support MongoDB operations including replication, sharding, backup, and restore.
- Work with MongoDB Ops Manager and MongoDB Atlas for monitoring and management.
- Monitor, profile, and troubleshoot database performance issues.
API & Backend Development
- Develop and maintain APIs and backend services integrated with MongoDB.
- Use Node.js, Java, and Python to build scalable data-driven services.
- Collaborate with application and platform teams to support data access needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong expertise in MongoDB schema design and document modeling.
- Hands-on experience with indexing strategies, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency with the MongoDB Aggregation Framework and transaction management.
- Experience with replication, sharding, and backup/restore processes.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB Ops Manager and MongoDB Atlas.
- Experience developing APIs/services using Node.js, Java, and Python.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Desirable / Preferred Skills
- Python development experience
- Experience supporting large-scale, production MongoDB environments
