Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Java Spring Boot Lead Developer to design, build, and lead development of high-performance, scalable applications. The role requires strong hands-on leadership, deep backend expertise, and close collaboration with frontend teams to deliver end-to-end solutions for high-traffic, public-facing platforms.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the design and development of Spring Boot–based microservices using Java 1.8+.
· Build and maintain RESTful services and APIs.
· Drive code quality, performance, scalability, and reliability across applications.
· Analyze existing codebases and implement performance and architectural improvements.
· Lead resolution of complex production issues and technical debt.
· Design and develop batch jobs and services using Java, SQL, and scripting.
· Collaborate closely with frontend developers to deliver complete, end-to-end systems.
· Ensure code is well-tested with a strong emphasis on unit testing.
· Manage and maintain source code using Git.
· Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 10+ years of overall software development experience.
· 6–10+ years of experience in a Lead Developer role.
· Strong hands-on experience with:
o Java 1.8+
o Spring Boot Microservices
o RESTful APIs
· Solid understanding of:
o Object-oriented and procedural design patterns
o Unit testing frameworks
· Experience working with:
o SQL & NoSQL databases
o Messaging and data systems
· Hands-on experience with React or similar JavaScript frameworks.
· Strong understanding of responsive web design using HTML5 and CSS3.
· Experience building high-traffic, public-facing web applications.
· Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities.
Nice to Have
· Experience with cloud-native or distributed systems.
· Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
· Experience in performance tuning and scalability optimization.
