Job Title: ServiceNow (ITSM / ITOM / CMDB / CSDM)- Senior Technical Consultant
Location: Remote (25% Travel Required)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Consultant – ServiceNow to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of enterprise-scale ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM solutions, with a strong focus on CMDB, Service Mapping, and CSDM. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, drive platform optimization, and partner with business and IT stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing ServiceNow solutions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Strategy

• Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions including ITSM, ITOM (CMDB, Service Mapping, Discovery, Event Management), and CSDM
• Define architectural vision, standards, and roadmaps in collaboration with business stakeholders and project teams
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for ServiceNow platform capabilities and best practices

Customization, Configuration & Development

• Oversee and perform hands-on configuration and customization of ServiceNow modules ensuring scalability and maintainability
• Develop custom applications using ServiceNow App Engine
• Configure workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, notifications, reports, and dashboards
• Perform custom scripting using JavaScript and other supported scripting technologies

ITOM & CMDB

• Lead multiple end-to-end ITOM implementations, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, and Cloud Management
• Design and implement CMDB architecture, extensions, and CSDM-aligned data models
• Configure and customize Discovery patterns, probes, sensors, discovery schedules, and event rules
• Integrate ServiceNow CMDB with enterprise monitoring and third-party CMDB tools

Integrations

• Architect and implement integrations between ServiceNow and LDAP, Active Directory, SAP, enterprise monitoring tools, and custom APIs
• Ensure reliable data flow, interoperability, and error handling across integrated systems

Platform Governance, Security & Optimization

• Establish and enforce governance, security, and compliance standards including access control, data integrity, and configuration management
• Identify and implement opportunities for platform optimization (performance, usability, and cost efficiency)
• Lead platform upgrades, patching, and enhancements, aligning with ServiceNow releases and minimizing business impact

Leadership & Client Engagement

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development and support teams
• Collaborate with clients to provide architectural guidance, recommendations, and process automation strategies
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, workflows, and implementation guides

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on expertise in ServiceNow
• Proven experience in ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM implementations
• Strong expertise in CMDB, Service Mapping, Discovery, and CSDM
• Hands-on experience with ITIL process implementations (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, etc.)
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations and enterprise monitoring systems
• Strong hands-on development experience with ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript) and configuration
• Experience with Workflow administration, Reporting, Form/UI customization, Notifications, and Data Imports
• Strong understanding of process automation and optimization using advanced ServiceNow features
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with clients and cross-functional stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
