Title: Power BI Developer

Location: Hartford, CT

Max Rate: $45/hr on C2C

 

Role Description:

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Business Intelligence (BI), data visualization, and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and enterprise-level BI solutions to support data-driven business decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Build and maintain paginated reports using Power BI Report Builder.
• Develop efficient data models, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculated measures.
• Write and optimize DAX expressions for complex business logic and KPIs.
• Connect Power BI to multiple data sources such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, Snowflake, APIs, and Excel.
• Perform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query (M language).
• Ensure data accuracy, performance optimization, and best practices in report development.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access controls.
• Monitor and troubleshoot report performance and refresh failures.
• Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service, including workspace and dataset management.
• Document BI solutions, data models, and technical designs.
• Support UAT, production deployment, and post-go-live enhancements.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
• Proficient in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience creating paginated reports.
• Strong understanding of BI concepts, KPIs, and reporting best practices.
• Experience working with large datasets and enterprise-scale BI solutions.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schema).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
