Job Title: Application Support Executive (Payments – L2/L3 Production Support)

Location: Morristown, NJ – 100% Onsite

Note: This role is strictly Production Support (L2/L3) on Windows OS.


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Executive to provide L2/L3 production support for mission-critical payment applications in a high-availability environment. The role focuses on supporting credit and debit card processing systems, managing incidents, resolving transaction issues, handling disputes and chargebacks, and ensuring compliance with payment industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, deep knowledge of payment card lifecycle processes, and experience working in high-pressure production environments.


Key Responsibilities

Incident & Production Support

Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in payment applications, ensuring minimal downtime and SLA adherence.

Provide L2/L3 support for payment gateways, POS systems, and card processing platforms on Windows OS.

Handle transaction failures, connectivity issues, and system integration problems.

Payment Card Processing Support

Support end-to-end card transaction lifecycle including authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.

Troubleshoot issues related to acquirers, issuers, and card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex).




Required Skills & Qualifications

6–8+ years of application support experience, with 5+ years in the payment industry.

Strong experience in L2/L3 production support on Windows OS.

Proficiency in troubleshooting applications built on Java, .NET, or Python.

Strong SQL / Oracle skills for querying transaction, dispute, and reconciliation data.

Hands-on experience with APIs and Web Services (REST/SOAP).

Knowledge of middleware technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ.

In-depth understanding of:

Payment card lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation)

Credit/debit card processing workflows (acquirer/issuer)

ISO 8583, EMV standards

Experience with disputes, chargebacks, and card network regulations.

Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and monitoring platforms.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure in a production support environment.
