Job Title: Google Cloud DevOps / SRE Engineer
Location: Alpharetta, GA
Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Google Cloud DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, build, deploy, and support scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with GCP core services, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, Linux systems, and production troubleshooting, and will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of cloud-native applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
Support and optimize core GCP services including Compute Engine, GKE, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
Design and maintain networking architectures including VPC peering, Shared VPCs, firewall rules, load balancing, DNS, VPN tunnels, and private connectivity.
Implement and troubleshoot security and IAM configurations, including service accounts, Workload Identity Federation, and least-privilege access controls.
Develop and maintain Terraform modules, manage remote state backends, and enforce DRY principles.
Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins (Declarative and Scripted) and GitHub Actions.
Implement advanced deployment strategies such as Canary and Blue/Green deployments using Docker and Helm.
Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS), including kernel tuning, systemd services, and storage/LVM. (Must have)
Perform deep system and application debugging, including CPU, memory, and I/O bottleneck analysis, log analysis, and boot issue resolution.
Develop automation and tooling using Python, Go (Golang), or Java. (Must have)
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience as a DevOps / SRE Engineer on Google Cloud Platform.
Hands-on expertise with GKE (Kubernetes) and containerized workloads.
Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills. (Mandatory)
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Go, or Java. (Mandatory)
Solid understanding of cloud networking and security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud certifications:
Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
Professional Cloud Architect
CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
Experience supporting large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, Change Advisory Board (CAB) workflows, and incident management.
