Job Description: AWS Cloud Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, automation, networking, and security. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with AWS core services, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation, while ensuring compliance and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize core AWS services including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53, Backups, EKS, SSO, MSK, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and related security/compliance tooling.

Design, configure, and troubleshoot AWS networking (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, hybrid connectivity).

Implement observability and monitoring solutions using Amazon CloudWatch, Grafana, OpenTelemetry (OTEL), and proactive telemetry/alerting.

Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment using Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Shell scripting.

Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters (EKS) and Istio service mesh for traffic management, security, and observability.

Perform security patching and vulnerability remediation in cloud-native and containerized environments, ensuring compliance with best practices.

Develop Python or Bash scripts for automation, tooling, and infrastructure management.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment to deliver reliable, scalable cloud solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

6–8 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles.

Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53, Backups, EKS, SSO, MSK, Security Hub, GuardDuty).

Advanced networking knowledge (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, hybrid connectivity).

Experience with monitoring/observability (CloudWatch, Grafana, OTEL).

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Shell scripting.

Solid understanding of Kubernetes (EKS) and Istio service mesh.

Strong knowledge of cloud security patching and vulnerability management.

Programming/scripting skills in Python and/or Bash.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
