Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IP.21 Consultant / AspenTech Manufacturing Suite Engineer with strong expertise in AspenTech IP.21, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Industrial Historians, and Manufacturing Control Systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the implementation, customization, upgrade, integration, and support of AspenTech Manufacturing Suite solutions while working closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, and manufacturing customers.

The successful candidate will possess deep knowledge of AspenTech IP.21, OSI PI, PHD Historian, OPC technologies, MES platforms, SQL databases, and .NET application development. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to support critical manufacturing and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

AspenTech IP.21 Implementation & Support

• Implement, configure, customize, and support AspenTech Manufacturing Suite solutions, with a primary focus on IP.21.
• Perform system upgrades, migrations, and enhancement activities for existing AspenTech environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to AspenTech IP.21 applications and integrations.
• Provide ongoing application support and maintenance for manufacturing systems.

Historian & Data Management Solutions

• Design, configure, and support industrial historian platforms including OSI PI, Aspen PHD Historian, Wonderware Historian, and related systems.
• Develop and maintain historian data collection, storage, retrieval, and reporting solutions.
• Support data integration between manufacturing systems, historians, and enterprise applications.
• Optimize historian performance, reliability, and scalability.

Manufacturing Systems & MES Integration

• Support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) implementations and integrations.
• Work with manufacturing control systems and industrial automation environments.
• Design and implement interfaces between MES, historians, ERP systems, and operational technologies.
• Support plant operations through real-time manufacturing data solutions.

Application Development & Customization

• Develop product extensions, custom modules, and enhancements within the AspenTech ecosystem.
• Build and maintain custom applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Upgrade legacy applications to modern .NET frameworks and technologies.
• Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions to support manufacturing applications.

Integration & OPC Solutions

• Design and implement OPC-based connectivity solutions.
• Integrate manufacturing control systems with enterprise applications and data historians.
• Support real-time data exchange across operational and business systems.
• Troubleshoot communication and integration issues across multiple platforms.

Database Administration & Reporting

• Work with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Design, optimize, and maintain database structures supporting manufacturing applications.
• Create reports, dashboards, and operational data solutions.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance.

Customer Engagement & Documentation

• Work directly with customers, business users, operations teams, and technical stakeholders.
• Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Create technical documentation, implementation guides, support procedures, and architecture documentation.
• Provide user training and knowledge transfer sessions.

Required Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of experience supporting Manufacturing Systems, MES, Industrial Historians, or AspenTech solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with AspenTech Manufacturing Suite, particularly IP.21.
• Experience implementing, upgrading, customizing, and supporting AspenTech solutions.
• Strong knowledge of OSI PI, Aspen PHD Historian, Wonderware Historian, or similar historian platforms.
• Experience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Strong understanding of OPC technologies and Manufacturing Control Systems.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft .NET development.
• Strong SQL programming and database development skills.
• Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Ability to troubleshoot and support production manufacturing systems.
• Strong customer-facing communication and consulting skills.
• Excellent technical documentation and problem-solving abilities.
