Job Title: Scrum Master – Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance Domain
Location: Columbus, OH
Duration: 12+ Months
Work Arrangement: Hybrid/Onsite (as per client requirement)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with strong expertise in Agile delivery and the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating Agile practices, coaching cross-functional teams, removing impediments, and ensuring delivery alignment with business and regulatory objectives.

This role requires a strong understanding of insurance workflows and the ability to bridge business and technology teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that support evolving P&C business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Facilitation & Delivery Management

  • Facilitate and lead all Agile ceremonies, including:
    • Daily Stand-Ups
    • Sprint Planning
    • Sprint Reviews
    • Sprint Retrospectives
    • Backlog Refinement Sessions
  • Ensure Agile processes are consistently followed and continuously improved.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, and effective collaboration across teams.

Team Coaching & Mentorship

  • Coach team members on Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and values.
  • Foster self-organization, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Mentor teams on Agile maturity and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Encourage a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance.

Impediment Management

  • Proactively identify, track, and remove impediments that impact team productivity and delivery timelines.
  • Escalate risks, issues, and dependencies when necessary.
  • Facilitate effective problem-solving and decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of blockers.

Product Backlog Support

  • Partner closely with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is:
    • Well-groomed
    • Properly prioritized
    • Clearly defined
    • Aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Support planning activities related to:
    • Regulatory Compliance Initiatives
    • New Product Rollouts
    • Business Process Enhancements
    • Technology Modernization Programs

Metrics, Reporting & Delivery Governance

  • Track and communicate Agile delivery metrics, including:
    • Team Velocity
    • Sprint Progress
    • Release Readiness
    • Delivery Forecasting
    • Team Performance Metrics
  • Provide regular status updates and delivery reporting to business and technology stakeholders.
  • Facilitate data-driven decision-making and continuous process improvements.

P&C Insurance Domain Alignment

  • Leverage Property & Casualty Insurance domain expertise to provide business context and support solution delivery.
  • Assist teams in understanding complex insurance workflows, business processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure technical solutions align with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to support initiatives across the P&C insurance value chain.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Agile project delivery, Scrum leadership, or project management roles.
  • Strong experience serving as a Scrum Master in enterprise Agile environments.
  • Proven experience within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain.
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Agile Methodologies
    • Scrum Framework
    • Sprint Planning and Delivery
    • Backlog Management
    • Metrics and Reporting
    • Release Management
    • Risk and Dependency Management
  • Experience working with Product Owners and cross-functional business and technology teams.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrum certifications such as:
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
    • Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • Experience leading Agile transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting insurance regulatory compliance and digital transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with enterprise Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
