Role: Scrum Master / Product Owner – Jira Board Management

Location: Jersey City, NJ / Dallas, TX

Duration: 12+ Months

Experience Required: 8-10 Years 

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master / Product Owner with strong expertise in Agile methodologies and Jira Board Management. The ideal candidate will serve as a servant leader and product facilitator, ensuring efficient Agile execution, backlog management, sprint delivery, and stakeholder collaboration.

This role requires a blend of Scrum Master leadership and Product Ownership capabilities, with hands-on experience managing Jira boards, driving Agile ceremonies, and coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver business value.

Key Responsibilities

Scrum Leadership & Agile Delivery

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including:
• Sprint Planning
• Daily Stand-ups
• Sprint Reviews
• Sprint Retrospectives
• Backlog Refinement Sessions
• Remove impediments and help teams maintain productivity and focus.
• Coach and mentor teams on Agile principles, Scrum frameworks, and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and delivery efficiency.
• Monitor sprint progress and ensure timely delivery of commitments.

Product Ownership & Backlog Management

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements.
• Create and maintain product backlogs aligned with business objectives and delivery priorities.
• Define and manage user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements.
• Ensure product roadmaps and sprint deliverables align with strategic business goals.
• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and development teams to ensure clear communication and successful delivery.

Jira Board Management

• Manage and maintain Jira boards for multiple Agile teams and initiatives.
• Configure workflows, dashboards, reports, and Agile metrics within Jira.
• Monitor sprint velocity, burndown charts, and team performance metrics.
• Ensure accurate tracking of epics, stories, tasks, defects, and dependencies.
• Generate reports and dashboards to provide visibility into project progress and delivery status.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Coordinate with business leaders, product teams, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans effectively.
• Facilitate decision-making and ensure transparency across teams and stakeholders.
• Foster collaboration and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8-10 years of overall experience in Agile project delivery, Product Ownership, and Scrum leadership.
• Proven experience serving as both a Scrum Master and Product Owner in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• Scrum Framework
• Agile Methodologies
• Product Ownership
• Backlog Management
• User Story Creation
• Stakeholder Management
• Sprint Planning and Execution
• Hands-on experience with Jira Board Management, including workflow configuration, dashboards, reporting, and Agile metrics.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery models and project management methodologies.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) and/or Product Owner certification (CSPO, PSPO).
• Experience leading enterprise Agile transformation initiatives.
• Experience managing multiple Agile teams and large-scale delivery programs.
• Familiarity with Agile reporting, metrics, and continuous improvement frameworks.
