Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe & AS400 Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise applications running on IBM Mainframe and AS400/iSeries platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CL, RPG, and legacy application modernization while supporting mission-critical business systems.

This role requires hands-on development, production support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications on IBM Mainframe and AS400/iSeries platforms.
• Develop and support applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CL, RPG, and related technologies.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
• Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, integration testing, and production support activities.
• Develop and maintain batch processing jobs, file transfer processes, and data integration workflows.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Support system upgrades, maintenance activities, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, infrastructure teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Participate in incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and application design documents.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise development standards and best practices.

• Experience working in both development and production support environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RPG/RPGLE and CL programming on AS400.
• Knowledge of application modernization initiatives.
• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Retail, or Manufacturing domains.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
• Exposure to DevOps and automated deployment processes.
