Job Title: Performance Tester
Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Performance Tester with strong expertise in performance engineering, load testing methodologies, and distributed systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Apache Kafka environments and possess the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve performance bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers.

The candidate will collaborate closely with Development, QA, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure applications meet performance, scalability, reliability, and capacity requirements.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience in Performance Testing and Analysis

• Experience with distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and microservices environments

Key Responsibilities

Performance Test Planning & Execution

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, spike, and scalability tests.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, scenarios, scripts, and execution frameworks.
• Simulate real-world user traffic and workload patterns to validate application performance and scalability.

Performance Analysis & Optimization

• Analyze application behavior under both peak and normal usage conditions.
• Identify and diagnose performance bottlenecks across:
• Applications
• APIs
• Databases
• Infrastructure
• Network Layers
• Recommend tuning, optimization, and capacity planning improvements.

Monitoring & Reporting

• Monitor system metrics, including:
• Response Time
• Throughput
• Latency
• CPU Utilization
• Memory Consumption
• Error Rates
• Resource Utilization
• Create detailed performance reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Collaboration & Issue Resolution

• Collaborate with Development, QA, DevOps, and Product teams to resolve performance issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and performance remediation activities.
• Validate fixes and conduct retesting following performance improvements.

Performance Engineering & Automation

• Maintain performance testing frameworks, tools, and environments.
• Support performance testing integration within CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
• Contribute to performance engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
• Strong understanding of web applications, APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Apache Kafka environments.
• Experience with cloud-native applications and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficiency in SQL and database performance troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with scripting and programming concepts.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Strong adaptability, flexibility, and technology-driven mindset.
• Passion for solving complex performance challenges in large-scale enterprise environments.
