Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer to join our Core Brokerage / Middle Office Core Platform team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering scalable, high-performance backend applications and services. This role requires strong expertise in modern software engineering practices, distributed systems, backend development, and technical leadership.
The candidate will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and development teams to build mission-critical applications that support enterprise-scale brokerage operations.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong programming experience in Golang, Java, C++, and Python
- Expertise in Core Java/J2EE
- Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, JPA, and Hibernate
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, SOAP Services, gRPC, and Web Services
- Strong SQL skills with Oracle, Sybase, or other Relational Databases
- Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments
- Knowledge of Shell Scripting, Perl, KSH, and Batch Scripts
- Experience with Cloud Technologies, Containers, and Service Mesh
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems, and scalable architectures
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy highly scalable backend applications and services.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Develop and maintain enterprise-grade software solutions using Golang, Java, Python, and C++.
- Create and review technical artifacts including architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and design documents.
- Design APIs and service integrations using REST, SOAP, and gRPC.
- Develop database solutions and optimize complex SQL queries.
- Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
- Drive technical solutioning and ensure successful delivery of business initiatives.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce software engineering best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD implementation and automation initiatives.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide long-term scalable solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering excellence across teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4–10 years of software development experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in either Golang or Java with working knowledge of Python and C++.
- Experience building large-scale distributed applications and microservices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Financial Services, Brokerage, Trading, or Capital Markets domains.
- Knowledge of Microservices Architecture and Container Platforms.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud Platforms.
- Exposure to Service Mesh technologies.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring development teams.
