Job Title: Multi-Cloud Solution Architect (GCP / Azure)

Location: Wilton, CT or San Jose, CA (Onsite)
Bill Rate: $60/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Multi-Cloud Solution Architect with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Azure, along with optional AWS experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, governing, and implementing enterprise-scale cloud solutions while driving cloud transformation initiatives, automation strategies, security frameworks, and cloud-native architectures.

This role requires a hands-on architect who can provide technical leadership, define cloud standards, establish reference architectures, and collaborate with application, infrastructure, DevOps, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver scalable and secure cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Strategy

• Design and implement enterprise-scale cloud architectures across GCP and Azure environments.
• Provide architectural leadership for cloud-native applications and infrastructure solutions.
• Define cloud strategy, standards, governance frameworks, and future-state architecture.
• Develop technical roadmaps for cloud adoption, modernization, and transformation initiatives.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Leadership

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for GCP architecture and best practices.
• Design enterprise-level account structures, landing zones, and security models in GCP.
• Architect and implement scalable cloud services leveraging GCP PaaS offerings.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.

Multi-Cloud Architecture

• Design and manage solutions across multiple cloud platforms including:
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Microsoft Azure
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) – Preferred
• Ensure interoperability and consistency across cloud environments.
• Define multi-cloud governance and operational models.

Security & Compliance

• Integrate security principles into all cloud architecture designs.
• Define cloud security standards, controls, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and security requirements.
• Support identity, access management, and security architecture initiatives.

Cloud Automation & DevOps

• Drive infrastructure automation and programmable infrastructure initiatives.
• Create automation frameworks, standards, and reusable cloud building blocks.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD, deployment automation, and operational efficiency.
• Establish cloud automation best practices across the organization.

Solution Design & Technical Leadership

• Create solution architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Develop Proof of Concepts (PoC) and Proof of Value (PoV) initiatives.
• Review and approve solution designs to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
• Provide technical guidance to application and engineering teams.

Data Integration & Cloud Services

• Design cloud-based data integration architectures and patterns.
• Support enterprise application integration strategies.
• Develop scalable and secure cloud service solutions.

Governance & Enterprise Architecture

• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture teams to define target-state architectures.
• Develop and maintain:
• Reference Architectures
• Design Guidelines
• Technology Standards
• Architecture Principles
• Ensure alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery activities.
• Support change management, risk management, and governance processes.
• Communicate architectural decisions and impacts to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Influence technical direction and cloud adoption strategies.

Troubleshooting & Optimization

• Troubleshoot complex cloud application deployment issues.
• Analyze performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement and cloud optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7+ years of experience as a Solution Architect.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience designing enterprise cloud architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies and PaaS services.
• Strong understanding of cloud security architecture and governance.
• Experience developing cloud roadmaps and transformation strategies.
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
