Job Title: Cloud Security Engineer – Logging, Monitoring & Incident Response

Location: Phoenix, AZ preferred but open to Atlanta and NYC

Work Model: (Hybrid) 3 days – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with expertise in Security Monitoring, Incident Response, Cloud Security, and SIEM integrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strengthening the organization’s security posture through proactive monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and security operations across AWS and GCP environments.

Key Responsibilities

Security Monitoring & Logging

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise logging and monitoring solutions.
• Develop security monitoring use cases and detection rules for cloud and enterprise environments.
• Integrate security events, logs, and telemetry into SIEM platforms.
• Create dashboards, alerts, and reporting mechanisms for security operations.
• Establish and maintain SIEM integration patterns across applications, infrastructure, and cloud services.

Incident Response

• Investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents and alerts.
• Perform incident triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain Incident Response playbooks and procedures.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams during security incidents.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend remediation actions.

Cloud Security

• Monitor and secure AWS and GCP environments.
• Implement cloud-native security controls and monitoring capabilities.
• Identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and security risks within cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to improve security posture and compliance.

Security Governance & Program Support

• Apply Information Security principles, standards, and best practices.
• Support security audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
• Participate in security projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Manage security-related workstreams and stakeholder communications as needed.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Security Operations Center (SOC), monitoring, and incident response functions.
• Hands-on experience with AWS security services and monitoring capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with GCP security services and monitoring capabilities.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel, Chronicle, or similar.
• Knowledge of SIEM integration patterns and log management architectures.
• Strong understanding of Information Security principles and security frameworks.
• Experience in threat detection, incident investigation, and response.
• Understanding of cloud security architecture and best practices.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Experience managing security projects or coordinating cross-functional security initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Incident Response Framework, and Zero Trust principles.
• Experience with automation and orchestration within security operations.
• Exposure to vulnerability management and threat intelligence programs.
