Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Duration: [Contract / Full-Time]

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security solutions that protect enterprise systems, networks, applications, and data. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with security technologies, vulnerability management, threat detection, incident response, and cloud security across modern enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise security solutions and controls.
• Monitor security events and investigate incidents using SIEM platforms.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination, and remediation tracking.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Perform security risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Secure cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM), MFA, and privileged access controls.
• Analyze network traffic and investigate suspicious activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to embed security best practices.
• Support security audits, compliance initiatives, and regulatory requirements.
• Automate security monitoring and response processes using scripting tools.
• Maintain endpoint security, data protection, and network security controls.
• Participate in incident response, forensic investigations, and disaster recovery planning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering or Information Security.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO 27001, and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as:
• Splunk Enterprise Security
• Microsoft Sentinel
• IBM QRadar
• Experience with EDR/XDR solutions such as:
• CrowdStrike Falcon
• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
• Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and Zero Trust architecture.
• Experience securing cloud platforms:
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Microsoft Azure
• Google Cloud Platform
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools like:
• Tenable Nessus
• Qualys VMDR

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as:
• CISSP
• CEH
• GIAC GSEC
• CompTIA Security+
• CCSP
• Experience with DevSecOps, container security, and Kubernetes security.
• Knowledge of SOAR platforms and security automation.
• Experience in regulated industries such as Banking, Healthcare, Insurance, or Government.
