Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced Slack Engineer with deep expertise in Slack administration, automation, and API development to enhance collaboration and productivity across a large enterprise environment. This role will focus on managing Slack at scale, building secure and compliant collaboration solutions, and leveraging AI-driven and agent-based automation to optimize workflows.

You will collaborate closely with IT, security, and engineering teams to design, integrate, and maintain a robust Slack ecosystem aligned with organizational policies and business goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, configure, and optimize Slack at enterprise scale, ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Design and implement Slack governance frameworks to manage workspaces, users, apps, and permissions.
• Enforce security, compliance, and data retention policies in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Develop and deploy Slack automation using APIs, bots, workflows, and AI-driven solutions.
• Build and maintain custom Slack apps and integrations with enterprise systems, third-party tools, and internal applications.
• Leverage agent-based automation and AI strategies within Slack to enhance productivity and collaboration.
• Partner with IT, security, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure Slack solutions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Monitor Slack usage, performance, and adoption metrics; recommend continuous improvements.
• Stay current with emerging trends in collaboration platforms, AI automation, and Slack development best practices.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Slack in an enterprise environment.
• Strong expertise in Slack security, compliance, and governance.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or JavaScript.
• Strong understanding of API development, integration patterns, and API design principles.
• Hands-on experience developing Slack bots, workflows, and custom applications.
• Experience integrating Slack with enterprise applications and systems.
• Experience with AI-driven or agent-based automation within Slack.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Ability to drive innovation in collaboration and productivity technologies.
