Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced M365 Tenant-to-Tenant Migration Lead to drive technical planning and execution of Microsoft 365 cross-tenant migrations, including identity consolidation, Active Directory forest/domain migrations, and coexistence strategy implementation.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in M365, Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory trusts, hybrid identity, and migration tools such as Quest (preferred).
Key Responsibilities
Tenant-to-Tenant Migration Leadership
- Lead end-to-end M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations including:
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive
- Define migration strategy, scope, tooling, and cutover approach.
- Execute phased or big-bang migration models based on business needs.
Identity & Directory Integration
- Design and implement Entra ID (Azure AD) integration strategies:
- Domain consolidation
- Conditional Access policies
- Oversee Active Directory forest/domain migrations.
- Design and manage trust relationships:
- Two-way
- Transitive / Non-transitive
- Implement hybrid identity solutions using Entra Connect.
- Identify and resolve:
- UPN conflicts
- SIDHistory issues
- Naming conflicts
Migration Tooling & Execution
- Configure and manage migration tools:
- Quest (Preferred)
- ShareGate
- BitTitan
- Microsoft Cross-Tenant Tools
- Conduct environment assessments:
- AD forests and domains
- OU structures
- GPOs
- Schema versions
- Ensure seamless coexistence and interoperability during migration.
Security & Governance
- Align migrations with security and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with security, compliance, and legal teams.
- Maintain governance policies across tenants.
- Ensure secure conditional access and authentication controls.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience leading M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
- Deep expertise in:
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Active Directory forest/domain migrations
- AD Trusts
- Entra Connect (Hybrid Identity)
- Experience resolving UPN and SIDHistory conflicts.
- Hands-on experience with migration tools (Quest preferred).
- Experience designing coexistence strategies across Microsoft workloads.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance governance.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure environments.
Pre-Screening Expertise Required
Candidates should be prepared to discuss:
- Recent tenant-to-tenant migration led (scope, tools, cutover approach).
- Handling UPN conflicts and SIDHistory during AD migrations.
- Trust model selection between forests and rationale.
- Quest vs ShareGate vs BitTitan – pros and cons.
- Ensuring coexistence across Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.

- Strong architectural design capabilities.
- Expertise in identity governance and enterprise migrations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.
