Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer with strong expertise in database design, development, and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with enterprise applications, preferably within the financial services domain, and hands-on experience with cloud database technologies. This role involves developing high-performance database solutions, optimizing queries, and supporting large-scale data processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop database solutions based on business requirements.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, views, materialized views, stored procedures, and triggers.
- Write and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL queries.
- Build and maintain ETL data pipelines across multiple data sources.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
- Deploy high-quality and efficient database code to production environments.
- Participate in technical design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity through unit testing and validation.
- Implement and maintain cloud-based database solutions.
- Ensure database security, compliance, and scalability.
- Monitor database growth and plan storage requirements.
- Maintain code in version control systems such as GitHub.
- Work with release management and deployment tools.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud and database technologies.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in database development.
- Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience creating database objects:
- Views
- Materialized Views
- Stored Procedures
- Triggers
- Strong experience in data modeling and database design.
- Expertise in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with ETL data pipelines.
- Experience troubleshooting database performance issues.
- Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS:
- EC2
- S3
- RDS
- PostgreSQL
- Redshift
- Experience with cloud-native database architectures.
- Knowledge of AWS security:
- IAM Roles & Policies
- Security Groups
- Encryption Keys
- Experience with high-volume data processing systems:
- Event-based processing
- Micro-batch processing
- Batch processing
- Experience with version control tools such as GitHub.
- Experience with release management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with ETL tools.
- Exposure to public cloud platforms.
- Experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain.
- Experience with Securities Finance systems.
- Experience with modern data processing architectures.
