Position – Senior Data Engineer

Location – Chicago, IL(Local Candidate Only)

 

Job Description:

 

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and a proven track record of leading large-scale data modernization or consolidation initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, advanced SQL, Python, and enterprise-grade orchestration tools.

This role requires strong technical leadership, architectural thinking, and the ability to design scalable, high-performance data solutions in modern cloud environments.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

 

• Lead large-scale data modernization and consolidation projects
• Design and implement scalable data architectures using Snowflake
• Optimize Snowflake performance, cost management, and data sharing strategies
• Develop robust ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data
• Design dimensional data models (Star/Snowflake schema)
• Build automation scripts and API integrations using Python
• Develop and manage workflows using enterprise orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow)
• Ensure data quality, governance, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide technical mentorship and best practices guidance

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data modernization or consolidation projects
• Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, including:
• Performance tuning
• Data sharing
• Cost optimization and management
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL
• Strong experience in dimensional data modeling techniques
• Advanced proficiency in Python for:
• Data manipulation
• Automation
• API integrations
• Extensive experience with enterprise orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
• Knowledge of data governance and security best practices
• Experience with large-scale data migration initiatives

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
