Title: OpenShift / Kubernetes Administrator

Location: Raleigh, NC or Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift / Kubernetes Administrator with strong hands-on expertise in managing, monitoring, and supporting container platforms across pre-production and production environments. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift administration, incident management, automation, and platform operations.

This role requires both GUI and CLI-level expertise and strong operational experience in enterprise environments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide application support for enterprise workloads (e.g., Sterling applications) across pre-prod and prod environments.
• Manage changes via SNOW tickets, Change tickets, and CTASKs.
• Test endpoint connectivity and validate firewall access (manual and automated methods).
• Scale pods and deployments as required.
• Update and manage:
• ConfigMaps
• Secrets
• Routes
• Services
• Other Kubernetes/OpenShift objects
• Perform logging and monitoring of containerized workloads.
• Provide logs and diagnostics (e.g., TCP dump) when not available via centralized logging tools.
• Monitor alerts and warnings on the container platform and create incidents in ServiceNow.
• Act as first responder for incident management and escalate to container admin teams when needed.
• Update and renew certificates (Ingress, Route, Wildcard certs).
• Support container platform patching in pre-prod and prod environments.
• Validate applications after infra or application changes (e.g., patching, F5 B2X updates).
• Create and maintain SOPs and Knowledge Base (KB) documentation.
• Develop and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.

• ConfigMaps, Secrets, Routes, Services management
• Certificate management (Ingress/Route/Wildcard)
• Logging and monitoring
• TCP dump and troubleshooting
• Patch management
• ServiceNow (Incident & Change Management)
• Automation scripts and jobs
• Firewall and endpoint connectivity validation
• Infrastructure validation post-changes
