Job Description – Performance Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite)
Experience Required: 8–10 Years
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Performance Engineer to design, execute, and manage performance testing initiatives for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring application scalability, reliability, and optimal performance across production environments while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute comprehensive performance, load, stress, and scalability tests.
Monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance in production environments.
Conduct capacity planning and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Implement and manage performance monitoring and Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools.
Automate repetitive performance testing and monitoring tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Provide effective performance solutions resulting in high levels of client satisfaction.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure performance standards are met.
Prepare performance test reports, analysis, and recommendations for stakeholders.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Performance Testing Tools
Hands-on experience with LoadRunner, JMeter, BlazeMeter
Platforms
Strong experience with Windows environments
Cloud experience with AWS
Knowledge of Kubernetes (optional)
APM & Monitoring Tools
Expertise in Dynatrace, AppDynamics, JVisualVM, Grafana
Monitoring tools such as Perfmon, Splunk, AppMon, SiteScope
Databases
Experience working with MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, MySQL
Scripting & Automation
Basic scripting experience using PowerShell
Automation testing exposure (optional):
BDD Frameworks, Cucumber, Scala, Karate, Gatling
Additional Tools
Knowledge of Fiddler, HTTP Watch, Postman, Bruno
Version Control & Repositories
Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, Dev Shell
Quality & Project Management Tools
Experience with JIRA, Confluence
