Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to support and enhance enterprise application platforms, middleware infrastructure, automation frameworks, containerized environments, messaging systems, and data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in application architecture, platform engineering, system resilience, capacity planning, automation technologies, and cloud-native platforms.

This role requires close collaboration with application development teams, infrastructure teams, DevOps engineers, business stakeholders, and enterprise architects to ensure highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Application Support

• Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale application platforms across distributed environments.
• Manage middleware infrastructure including Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), and WebLogic.
• Ensure platform stability, performance, availability, and operational excellence.
• Support application deployment, configuration management, and platform optimization initiatives.

Containerization & Cloud Platforms

• Design and manage containerized application environments using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Support container orchestration, workload management, scaling, and platform monitoring.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve platform automation and deployment processes.
• Implement platform best practices for reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Automation & Process Optimization

• Develop and support enterprise automation solutions using UiPath RPA, Microsoft Power Platform, and Apache Airflow.
• Identify opportunities to automate operational and business processes.
• Build workflows and automation frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Support automation governance, monitoring, and performance optimization.

Messaging & Integration

• Design, implement, and support messaging platforms including Kafka and IBM MQ.
• Ensure reliable message delivery, event-driven communication, and system integration.
• Monitor and troubleshoot messaging infrastructure and performance issues.
• Collaborate with application teams to optimize messaging architectures.

Data Platforms & Analytics

• Support enterprise data management platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, and Dataiku.
• Assist with ETL processes and data integration workflows using Glide and related technologies.
• Work closely with analytics and data engineering teams to ensure data availability and performance.
• Optimize data movement, storage, and processing capabilities.

Architecture, Capacity & Resilience Planning

• Participate in application architecture reviews and solution design discussions.
• Develop platform capacity management strategies and performance improvement plans.
• Conduct application resilience assessments and disaster recovery planning activities.
• Recommend architectural improvements to enhance scalability, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards and operational best practices.

Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Support

• Analyze and resolve complex platform, middleware, automation, and integration issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Monitor system health, performance metrics, and operational KPIs.
• Support production deployments, upgrades, and maintenance activities.

Documentation & Governance

• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
• Participate in change management, release management, and governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, operational, and technology standards.

Required Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Middleware Administration, Infrastructure Engineering, or Application Support.
• Strong experience with middleware technologies including Tomcat, WebSphere (WAS), and WebLogic.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience implementing automation solutions using UiPath RPA, Microsoft Power Platform, or Airflow.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, IBM MQ, or other enterprise messaging platforms.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Dataiku, or enterprise data management platforms.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, system design, and enterprise platforms.
• Experience with capacity planning, performance tuning, and resilience engineering.
• Strong SQL and scripting skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
