Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Steward to support enterprise data governance initiatives, with strong expertise in Record Retention and Deletion policies, data quality management, and regulatory compliance.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on SQL/Python capability, and experience working in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments.
Core Responsibilities
Data Governance & Policy Enforcement
- Identify and implement Record Retention and Deletion policies.
- Assess data-related risks including:
- Data Quality
- Data Movement
- Data Protection
- Data Sharing
- Data Stewardship
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on enterprise data policies.
- Educate business units on governance requirements and compliance implications.
Data Quality Management
- Monitor and manage data quality across platforms.
- Identify data quality issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Drive remediation efforts for audit and regulatory findings.
- Define and monitor critical data elements (CDEs).
- Support ongoing regulatory reporting requirements.
Collaboration & Governance Roadmap
- Partner with Product Managers to ensure new use cases comply with governance standards.
- Collaborate with upstream and downstream data providers.
- Contribute to strategic improvements in data assessment processes.
- Work with the Data Steward Manager to develop and execute the data compliance roadmap.
Technical Skills
- 2–5 years of Data Quality Management experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Metadata
- Data Lineage
- Data Modeling
- Data Architecture
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL
- Working knowledge of Python (or similar scripting language)
- Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred)
Nice to Have (Secondary Technical Exposure)
- Experience supporting microservices-based systems
- Exposure to Java / Spring Boot environments
- Understanding of monitoring tools and service-oriented architectures
