Job Description:

Experience Required:

  • 10–12+ years in Software Testing and Quality Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years in a QA Automation leadership role managing multi-team SDET/QA automation programs
  • BFSI domain experience in core banking, payments, or digital banking platforms
  • Strong hands-on coding experience in Java or equivalent languages for test automation frameworks and utilities

Role Summary:
Seeking a QA Test Automation Lead (SDET Lead) to drive quality engineering practices across complex, highly integrated banking platforms. The role includes architecture ownership of automation frameworks, embedding quality into CI/CD pipelines, leading SDET/QA automation teams, and ensuring fast, reliable, compliant, and audit-ready software releases.


Core Competencies:

  • Automation Testing in Hi-Tech and BFSI platforms
  • UI, API, Database, and Event-Driven Test Automation
  • CI/CD integrated test delivery and quality governance
  • Test diagnostics using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools
  • Secure and compliant release validation

Primary Responsibilities:

Automation Architecture and Delivery

  • Design, implement, and scale automation frameworks for UI, API, and Databases using tools such as Selenium, UFT, RestAssured, Postman, Cucumber BDD, TestNG, JUnit, or equivalent
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar) including quality gates, parallel execution, test impact analysis, artifact publishing, and traceability
  • Define and enforce test automation coding standards including test harnesses, mocks, data builders, service virtualization, and static test code analysis
  • Lead test automation code reviews and ensure framework maintainability, reusability, reliability, and scalability

Banking Domain-Focused Automation

  • Convert core banking use cases (Deposits, Loans, ACH, Wires, Cards, Payments, and Digital Channels) into automated test scenarios and data validation suites
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Internal Engineering Teams, and vendor platforms (e.g., Fiserv, internal OMS, or banking services) for defect triage, hotfix validation, patch certification, and regression test cycles

Leadership, Governance, and Release Readiness

  • Lead and manage a team of SDETs/QA automation engineers including capacity planning, mentoring, upskilling, and delivery ownership
  • Own defect triage, root cause analysis, risk-based test planning, go/no-go decisions, release readiness validation, rollback validation, and post-release test evidence
  • Drive shift-left quality practices such as contract testing, API-first validation, early data checks, and pre-integration test coverage
  • Drive shift-right quality practices including synthetic monitoring, production validation dashboards, incident observability, and real-time KPI monitoring

Compliance and Security

  • Ensure test evidence meets regulatory and audit requirements such as SOX, regulatory, or equivalent frameworks
  • Automate traceability from user stories to test execution results, logs, and test artifacts
  • Validate secure coding compliance, identity test coverage, threat-aligned automation, and security-focused regression scenarios

Required Qualifications:

  • 10–12+ years in Software Testing and Quality Engineering
  • 5+ years leading SDET/QA automation teams across multiple squads or programs
  • Strong hands-on coding experience in Java, C#, or equivalent for test automation frameworks and utilities
  • Proven expertise in designing and scaling CI/CD-integrated automation at enterprise scale
  • Experience in Microservices, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architectures, and Cloud-Hosted Services
  • Strong SQL knowledge for database validation and data reconciliation
  • Experience diagnosing test failures using logs, metrics, and monitoring tools (Splunk, Grafana, Grafana, Splunk, Grafana, Splunk, Grafana, Splunk, Grafana, Splunk, Grafana, Splunk, or similar)
  • Banking domain experience (Core Banking, Payments, or Vendor Platform Collaboration)

Preferred Skills:

  • Performance testing experience using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar tools
  • ISTQB Advanced or equivalent Quality Engineering certifications (Preferred)
  • Agile/SAFe, Azure, or AWS certifications (Preferred)
  • Mobile automation experience using Appium, Appium, Appium, or Appium, Appium, Appium, or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Exposure to enterprise regression accelerators or OSA-style frameworks (Preferred)
