Description:
We are seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing Kafka based data platforms. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Kafka infrastructure while supporting enterprise data processing and integration needs.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands on experience with Kafka administration, big data technologies, and production support, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and maintain reliable data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Design,
develop, and manage Kafka based data pipelines and streaming platforms.
Monitor and optimize Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and
performance.
Perform troubleshooting and resolve Kafka related issues across environments.
Provide third level support for Kafka infrastructure and handle escalations.
Create and manage Kafka topics, producers, and consumers for efficient data
processing.
Develop and maintain Python based Kafka producers and consumers.
Ensure security, reliability, and scalability of Kafka environments.
Automate Kafka infrastructure processes and administrative tasks.
Provide support to customer queries and ensure timely issue resolution.
Support 24 by 7 operations during rotational support schedules.
Collaborate with teams working on big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark,
and Storm.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
10+ years
of experience in data engineering or infrastructure roles.
4–7 years of hands on experience in Kafka administration and engineering.
Experience supporting enterprise level Kafka environments.
Technical Skills
Strong
expertise in Apache Kafka administration and cluster management.
Experience designing and managing Kafka topics, producers, and consumers.
Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Storm.
Experience developing Kafka integrations using Python.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and streaming architectures.
Experience with monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization of Kafka
clusters.
Knowledge of automation and scripting for infrastructure management.
Soft Skills
Strong
problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in high pressure environments with multiple priorities.
Ability to provide support in rotational shifts and handle critical incidents.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in banking or financial services environments.
Experience working with large scale data streaming and analytics platforms.
Familiarity with enterprise support models and service level agreements.
