Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Application Architect to provide technical leadership for secure, scalable, and maintainable SaaS data integrations and target-state platform designs within the Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Learning Systems domain.
This role will define integration architectures across applications, APIs, event streams, ETL/data pipelines, and cloud-native services. The architect will partner with Product Owners, Tech Leads, and Enterprise Architects to translate strategic business requirements into end-to-end solution designs while ensuring reliability, performance, compliance, and governance alignment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture & Design
Design integration patterns across SaaS platforms, internal systems, and external partners.
Develop end-to-end solution proposals covering:
Functional design
Data flows
Security architecture
Operational requirements
Create and maintain architecture diagrams, interface catalogs, and technical specifications.
Conduct Buy vs. Build analysis considering cost, scalability, maintainability, and long-term architecture fit.
2. SaaS & Platform Capabilities
Assess SaaS capabilities against business and integration requirements.
Map technical features of SaaS platforms to domain use cases.
Review vendor roadmaps and identify risks in compliance-sensitive processes.
Provide oversight for configuration, customization, and data extraction strategies.
3. Technical Leadership
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to define and realize the target-state architecture.
Ensure adherence to enterprise standards, patterns, and best practices.
Conduct occasional code reviews and provide architectural guidance.
Identify reusable solution building blocks and reference patterns.
Act as a thought leader in solution design and architecture governance.
4. Solution-Level Architecture Support
Maintain domain-level architecture landscape views:
Logical architecture
Security architecture
Deployment diagrams
Current and target-state views
Develop project-level solution architecture aligned with OKRs.
Ensure compliance with Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
5. Integration & Data Architecture
Define integration strategies using:
REST APIs
Webhooks
GraphQL
Event streaming (e.g., Kafka)
ETL pipelines
Workflow automation
Validate data models, data quality, and retention policies.
Align with security teams on access control, auditing, and privacy requirements.
6. Governance & Standards
Participate in architecture reviews, risk assessments, and governance approvals.
Challenge enterprise architecture decisions constructively when necessary.
Align designs with engineering standards and cloud patterns.
Maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
7. Collaboration & Delivery Support
Support Scrum teams during refinement and sprint planning.
Provide architectural oversight during development and release cycles.
Communicate architectural trade-offs clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
Prepare and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
Top 3 Preferred Skills
8+ years in software engineering, 4+ years in enterprise solution architecture.
Proven experience designing end-to-end SaaS + custom integration solutions.
Strong ability to translate business strategy into target-state architecture and phased roadmaps.
Required Technical Expertise
Integration technologies: REST, GraphQL, Webhooks, Event Streaming (Kafka).
iPaaS / ESB platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, Azure Integration Services).
API management (versioning, throttling, governance).
Experience with at least one major cloud platform:
Azure
AWS
GCP
Identity & Access Management:
SSO
SAML
OAuth 2.0
OIDC
RBAC / ABAC
Compliance-aware architecture (SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
Architecture governance participation (ADRs, threat modeling – STRIDE).
