Description:

We are seeking an experienced SQL DBA responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server databases in a high availability production environment. The role focuses on ensuring database performance, reliability, and security while supporting development and operational teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and disaster recovery, along with the ability to handle critical production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and administer SQL Server databases across environments.
Configure and maintain database servers and related processes.
Monitor system health, performance, and availability.
Ensure high levels of database performance, security, and reliability.
Analyze and resolve database issues in real time.
Provide recommendations for performance improvements and optimizations.
Automate routine processes and maintain proper documentation.
Assist developers with query tuning and schema optimization.
Provide 24 by 7 support for critical production systems.
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities.
Implement and manage backup, restore, and recovery strategies.
Configure and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

10+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration.
Experience managing production environments with high availability requirements.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and database administration.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques.
Experience with backup, restore, and recovery models.
Strong knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
Experience working with Windows Server and Active Directory.
Strong understanding of database security and access controls.
Experience with monitoring tools and database performance analysis.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure in critical production environments.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with automation and scripting for database administration.
Experience supporting large scale enterprise systems.
Familiarity with cloud based database environments is a plus.
