Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator with strong expertise in managing and optimizing Kafka-based data streaming platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high availability, performance, and security of Kafka infrastructure while supporting mission-critical data pipelines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage Kafka-based data pipelines for real-time data processing.
• Administer and maintain Kafka clusters, ensuring scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance.
• Monitor system performance and proactively optimize Kafka infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Kafka-related issues (L3 Support).
• Ensure 24/7 availability during rotational on-call support periods.
• Create and manage Kafka topics, producers, and consumers.
• Develop and maintain Python-based Kafka producers and consumers.
• Implement automation for Kafka infrastructure management and operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering and platform teams.
• Handle customer queries and provide timely support within agreed SLAs.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka (4–7+ years)
• Experience with big data technologies such as:
• Apache Spark
• Hadoop
• Storm
• Proficiency in Python scripting for Kafka integrations
• Expertise in Kafka cluster monitoring, tuning, and performance optimization
• Experience in distributed systems and streaming architectures
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Banking/Financial Services domain (Nice to have)
• Knowledge of automation tools and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus
