Role Overview
We are seeking an Azure Application Architect responsible for application discovery, technical assessment, and migration readiness for workloads transitioning to Azure. The role focuses on evaluating application architectures, identifying dependencies, and defining migration strategies aligned with cloud best practices.
The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with Azure migrations, including Microsoft Dynamics workloads, and strong knowledge of Azure services, tools, and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead application discovery and assessment workshops with stakeholders.
Evaluate application architecture, integrations, data flows, and dependencies.
Assess current Azure resources and translate findings into migration readiness plans.
Define migration strategies using standard approaches including rehost, replatform, refactor, and rebuild.
Develop dependency maps, migration backlog items, and wave planning strategies.
Perform migration readiness analysis and identify risks, assumptions, and effort estimates.
Migrate workloads using Azure services such as App Service, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Storage, SQL, Kubernetes, and Virtual Machines.
Support migration of Microsoft Dynamics workloads including integrations and data migration.
Use Azure migration tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service.
Automate assessment and reporting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
Leverage Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for telemetry and analysis.
Produce documentation including assessment reports, architecture diagrams, and decision logs.
Collaborate with Azure Platform Architects and cross functional teams to ensure successful migration outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
6–8 years of experience in cloud architecture or application migration roles.
Experience migrating enterprise applications to Microsoft Azure.
Hands on experience with Microsoft Dynamics workload migration.
Technical Skills
Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services and architecture.
Experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service.
Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well Architected Framework.
Experience with scripting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
Experience with Azure Resource Graph for inventory and reporting.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools for backlog and tracking.
Understanding of integration patterns and dependency analysis.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong documentation and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Azure Arc and hybrid cloud environments.
Experience with Kubernetes and container based deployments.
Familiarity with enterprise migration strategies and large scale transformation programs.
