Title: Technical Project Manager (TPM) with Testing
Location: Charlotte NC/Phoenix AZ(Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months contract

 
A coordination-heavy Technical Project Manager role focused on data/process testing, API and file-based integration validation, and managing multi-team workflows within a banking technology ecosystem.

A Technical Project Manager (TPM) with Testing Background who:

1. Drives Coordination (Primary Focus)

• Manages multiple stakeholders and teams
• Ensures different systems, vendors, and internal groups stay aligned
• Troubleshoots issues and coordinates fixes across engineering, operations, compliance, etc.

2. Performs Data + Process Testing (NOT UI testing)

This is NOT a traditional QA or automation engineer role.

The testing focuses on:

• Data Testing
• Process/Workflow Testing
• Integration Testing (API + file-based)

Typical tasks:

• Validate file formats (columns, schema, naming)
• Validate data correctness in files
• Check file delivery timing and system-to-system connectivity
• Validate API payloads (structures, request/response)
• Check end-to-end onboarding flows across multiple backend systems

3. Mix of Manual + Tool-Based Testing

• 70% Manual (because no UI; mostly backend validations)
• 30% Tools/Automation (Playwright, internal tools—but not heavy automation)

4. Works Across Backend Ecosystem

Likely systems involved:

• File downloader/uploader
• File encryption systems
• Batch queue processors
• .NET-based backend apps
• Bridger (sanctions screening platform)
• API gateways
• File-based onboarding workflows

Who Will NOT Fit

• Pure UI/manual testers
• Pure automation engineers
• Developers/coders wanting dev-heavy work
• Candidates expecting light workload or only automation
• Core QA profiles who haven’t done data or backend workflow testing

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Technical Project Manager (not a coder, not a QA)
• From testing + backend process/data background
• Strong communication & stakeholder handling
• Familiar with APIs, backend workflows, file-based systems
• Comfortable doing manual backend validation
• Preferably from banking/FinTech domain
