Description:

We are seeking an experienced Telecom Java System Architecture & Design Engineer with strong expertise in mediation systems, distributed architectures, and high volume data processing. The role focuses on designing scalable, fault tolerant systems for telecom environments, handling complex data formats, and ensuring high performance and reliability across enterprise platforms.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Java based microservices, Kubernetes environments, telecom data processing, and SRE practices, along with the ability to lead architecture decisions and mentor engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design and lead scalable, fault tolerant mediation architectures including file ingestion, format transformation, SFTP distribution, event monitoring, and downstream delivery pipelines.
Develop and maintain core mediation services using Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Integration, Spring Batch, and Spring Kafka.
Build reusable platform libraries and shared components to standardize development practices.
Parse and transform telecom data formats including ASN.1 encoded CDRs, UDRs, AMA records, and proprietary formats.
Design, deploy, and manage containerized applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms.
Define and manage Helm charts, resource tuning, scaling strategies, and deployment policies.
Design and optimize Oracle database schemas for high volume data processing and audit tracking.
Develop and optimize SQL and PL SQL queries for reporting and performance tuning.
Define service level objectives and indicators, lead incident response, and implement reliability improvements.
Build observability frameworks using logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting tools.
Implement monitoring solutions using ELK, OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Optimize system performance including JVM tuning, Kafka throughput, file processing pipelines, and database performance.
Design and manage Kafka systems including partitioning, consumer tuning, offset management, and error handling.
Manage file transfer and storage using SFTP and object storage systems.
Collaborate with network, OSS, BSS, and downstream teams for solution alignment.
Lead architectural reviews, mentor engineering teams, and drive best practices.
Apply site reliability engineering practices including capacity planning, monitoring, and system resilience strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Experience

10+ years of experience in system architecture and enterprise application development.
Experience working in telecom environments with mediation systems and OSS or BSS platforms.
Experience designing large scale distributed and event driven systems.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, and related frameworks such as Spring Integration, Spring Batch, and Spring Kafka.
Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, and container orchestration.
Strong experience with Apache Kafka including partitioning, consumer groups, and messaging patterns.
Experience processing telecom data formats such as ASN.1, CDRs, UDRs, and AMA records.
Strong database expertise with Oracle including SQL and PL SQL optimization.
Experience with observability tools including ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and OpenTelemetry.
Experience with SFTP, object storage, and file processing pipelines.
Strong understanding of JVM performance tuning and system level debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with SRE practices including incident management and reliability engineering.
