Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a large-scale Salesforce data migration program involving complex legacy systems. This role focuses on building robust ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring high-quality data migration, and delivering reliable, production-ready data assets across multiple Salesforce platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Migration
- Extract legacy data from relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse
- Design and implement source-to-target mappings aligned with Salesforce data models
- Build and optimize data transformation pipelines using Databricks
- Load and migrate data into Salesforce platforms including:
- Sales Cloud
- Service Cloud
- Experience Cloud
- Marketing Cloud (SFMC)
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity during migration
Data Quality & Testing
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and defect analysis
- Execute unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Identify data gaps and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve inconsistencies
- Ensure adherence to data quality standards and governance frameworks
Delivery & Collaboration
- Manage tasks, defects, and priorities using Jira
- Collaborate with business analysts, Salesforce developers, and cross-functional teams
- Contribute to migration frameworks, reusable components, and best practices
- Ensure timely delivery aligned with program milestones and governance processes
- Work across multiple workstreams in a distributed team environment
Required Technical Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL/ELT development
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Azure Synapse Analytics
- Databricks
- Experience in Salesforce data migration and data loading
- Solid understanding of Salesforce data models
- Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and migration frameworks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise-scale Salesforce or CRM transformation programs
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
