Role: Windchill Data Migration Consultant

Location: Raritan, NJ (Remote)

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Windchill Data Migration Consultant to lead complex data migration initiatives within a PLM environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Windchill data models, migration tools, and PLM processes while guiding teams through large scale data transformation and migration programs. This role requires deep knowledge of engineering data management, CAD systems, and automated migration processes to ensure accurate and efficient transition of legacy data into Windchill platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Migration Strategy and Execution
   Lead data migration activities from legacy systems or non PLM environments into Windchill platforms while ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
2. Windchill Data Architecture
   Design and implement migration strategies aligned with Windchill data models, workflows, and system configurations.
3. Migration Tools and Utilities
   Utilize Windchill migration tools and utilities including Windchill Bulk Migrator and site consolidation tools to support migration processes.
4. Data Mapping and Transformation
   Define data mapping rules, perform transformation processes, and validate migrated data to ensure data integrity.
5. Migration Automation
   Develop scripts and automation solutions to streamline data migration processes and improve efficiency.
6. CAD and Engineering Data Migration
   Support migration of CAD files, engineering documents, and related product lifecycle data into the Windchill system.
7. Data Validation and Quality Assurance
   Perform validation checks and ensure migrated data meets business, technical, and compliance requirements.
8. Stakeholder Collaboration
   Work closely with engineering teams, PLM administrators, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure migration success.
9. Migration Planning and Governance
   Develop migration plans, timelines, and documentation to support large scale migration initiatives.
10. Team Leadership and Guidance
    Guide and mentor team members involved in migration activities and ensure adherence to best practices.
11. Documentation and Reporting
    Maintain comprehensive migration documentation, reports, and architecture artifacts.

Required Skills

1. Minimum 10+ years of experience in data migration projects, preferably within Windchill environments.
2. Strong understanding of PLM domain concepts and engineering data lifecycle processes.
3. Solid knowledge of Windchill data models, workflows, and configuration frameworks.
4. Experience migrating data from non PLM environments to Windchill platforms.
5. Strong understanding of data migration methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
6. Experience working with Windchill Bulk Migrator or similar migration tools.
7. Experience with data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques.
8. Proficiency in scripting languages to automate migration processes.
9. Knowledge of CAD data management and engineering document management systems.
10. Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with PLM integrations and enterprise product lifecycle management platforms.
2. Certifications related to PLM, data management, or Windchill technologies.
3. Experience working with Java based systems or Windchill technical frameworks.

Managerial Skills

1. Ability to establish effective working relationships within cross functional teams.
2. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
3. Ability to manage team conflicts and guide teams during complex migration activities.
4. Experience mentoring or leading teams involved in migration programs.

Experience Required

1. Minimum 10+ years of experience in PLM data migration, Windchill implementation, or enterprise data migration programs.
