Role: DataOps Support Engineer
Location: San Antonio, TX / New York (Onsite/Hybrid as applicable)
Duration: 12+ Months
Description:
We are looking for a skilled Data Ops Support Engineer to provide L1.5/L2 support for enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering support, ETL/ELT operations, and cloud data warehouse technologies, along with a solid understanding of ITIL-based support processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L1.5/L2 production support for data platforms including Snowflake, Talend/TMC, Qlik Replicate, and Power BI.
- Monitor ETL/ELT pipelines and resolve issues related to job failures, schema drift, and data quality.
- Execute deployments, patching, and upgrades in coordination with DevOps and infrastructure teams.
- Automate routine operational tasks using Python or PowerShell scripting.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and problem tickets using ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Support change management and release processes, ensuring proper documentation and coordination.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects during data migration and transformation activities.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs, audit requirements, and security policies (RBAC, access control).
- Participate in month-end processing, data validation, and reconciliation activities.
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation for operational continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in data engineering, data platform support, or DataOps environments.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Snowflake
- Talend / Talend Management Console (TMC)
- Qlik Replicate
- Power BI & Power Automate
- Strong SQL skills with performance tuning expertise.
- Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data warehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow workflows and ITIL-based support models.
- Experience in data quality checks, schema drift detection, and observability.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex data pipeline issues.
- Experience with RBAC, access control, and audit processes.
- Exposure to change management and release processes.
- Scripting experience in Python or PowerShell.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
