Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Ontologist / Knowledge Engineer to design and govern enterprise ontologies, knowledge graphs, and semantic data models. This role focuses on enabling semantic interoperability, knowledge representation, and AI-ready data architectures to support analytics, decision-making, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Ontology & Knowledge Engineering
- Lead the design, development, and governance of ontologies and knowledge models.
- Develop and maintain taxonomies, vocabularies, metadata, and controlled terminologies.
- Build and support knowledge graphs and semantic reasoning use cases.
- Ensure semantic consistency and correctness across solutions.
- Drive adoption of industry standards and reference ontologies.
Semantic & Data Architecture
- Define conceptual, logical, and semantic data models aligned with business needs.
- Establish data architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
- Enable semantic interoperability across APIs, systems, and data platforms.
- Define target architecture for image storage, metadata, and interoperability.
- Ensure reuse of data across AI, analytics, and enterprise applications.
Collaboration & Governance
- Collaborate with architects, data engineers, product owners, and domain experts.
- Guide teams on ontology modeling standards and reuse strategies.
- Review and validate solution designs for semantic alignment and compliance.
- Author and maintain documentation, governance artifacts, and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 9+ years of experience as a Lead Ontologist / Knowledge Engineer / Data Architect
- Strong expertise in:
- Ontology design and semantic modeling
- Knowledge graphs and knowledge representation
- Taxonomy and metadata management
- Experience with data modeling and enterprise data architecture
- Hands-on experience with ontology tools and semantic frameworks
- Strong understanding of interoperability, APIs, and data exchange patterns
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills
