Role: Symitar PowerOn Developer (Core Banking – Episys)
Location: Biloxi, MS (Onsite Preferred / Hybrid Option)
Duration: 12+ Months
Experience Required: 6–8+ Years
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Symitar PowerOn Developer with strong expertise in the Episys core banking platform. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and support PowerOn programs, automate batch processes, and work closely with business teams to enhance core banking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
PowerOn Development & Support
- Design, develop, and maintain PowerOn scripts and programs within the Symitar Episys platform.
- Enhance and modernize legacy PowerOn code for improved performance and maintainability.
- Develop custom workflows and automation solutions aligned with business needs.
Business & Requirements Collaboration
- Work directly with business users and operations teams to gather requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Analyze impact of changes across reports, interfaces, and core modules.
Batch Processing & Automation
- Create and manage OpCon jobs for scheduling and automation.
- Support batch processing, file transfers, and workflow orchestration.
- Troubleshoot job failures and dependency issues.
Production Support & Troubleshooting
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues.
- Support core banking processing cycles (daily, month-end, year-end).
- Ensure system stability and performance in production environments.
Upgrades, Compliance & Governance
- Support Symitar system upgrades, testing, and validation.
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Symitar Episys Core Banking platform
- Expertise in PowerOn scripting (mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of Symitar data structures and modules (Accounts, Loans, Deposits, GL)
- Proficiency in SQL (data extraction, reporting, joins)
- Experience with batch processing and automation tools (OpCon preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
- Knowledge of core banking / credit union operations
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with JavaScript (PowerForms)
- Exposure to Python or other scripting languages
- Experience with SymConnect / SymXchange APIs
- Integration experience with third-party systems (payments, LOS, imaging tools)
- Familiarity with file transfer and integration workflows
