Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled ETL Developer / BODS Developer with strong expertise in Business Objects Data Services (BODS), data warehousing, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data integration, transformation, and optimization, along with the ability to work independently and lead ETL initiatives in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end ETL development and implementation using BODS
- Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable ETL solutions
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL workflows, mappings, and data pipelines
- Analyze and enhance existing ETL jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of ETL processes
- Design and implement data models and transformation logic aligned with business needs
- Work extensively with Oracle and SQL Server databases for querying and optimization
- Develop and maintain Unix/Shell scripts for job automation and batch processing
- Ensure data quality, validation, and governance standards are met
- Coordinate with data warehouse and downstream application teams for seamless integration
- Maintain technical documentation, including ETL designs and operational procedures
- Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements to ETL solutions
- Act as an ETL Lead / Scrum facilitator, ensuring Agile best practices and timely delivery
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in ETL Development
- Strong hands-on experience with Business Objects Data Services (BODS)
- Expertise in ETL architecture, design, and optimization
- Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing and Data Modeling concepts
- Proficiency in SQL with experience in Oracle and SQL Server
- Experience in data integration, migration, and transformation
- Hands-on experience with Unix / Shell scripting
- Strong understanding of data quality, validation, and governance practices
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter
- Familiarity with data profiling tools and techniques
- Ability to work independently and handle end-to-end ownership
