Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Workday UX Consultant / Workday Experience & Journey Lead with 10+ years of experience in Workday HCM, Workday Onboarding, Human-Centered Design, and Experience Transformation to lead the redesign and optimization of onboarding and employee experience journeys within the Workday ecosystem. This role requires deep expertise in Workday business processes, journey mapping, service design, cross-functional collaboration, and scalable solution design.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding Experience & Journey Transformation
- Lead end-to-end redesign of the employee onboarding journey from offer acceptance through first 90 days.
- Create current-state and future-state journey maps for employees, hiring managers, and HR stakeholders.
- Identify friction points, simplify workflows, and drive automation-first and self-service-first solutions.
- Define experience outcomes and improve onboarding effectiveness, usability, and employee satisfaction.
Workday UX & Experience Design
- Translate business and user experience requirements into Workday-enabled solutions.
- Configure and optimize Workday onboarding frameworks, business processes, tasks, notifications, and workflows.
- Execute Studio X-style UX engagements to enhance Workday user experiences.
- Create journey maps, service blueprints, and low-fidelity prototypes for solution validation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Program Delivery
- Partner with Recruiting, Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Learning, Compliance, and IT teams to ensure connected onboarding experiences.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder sessions, design playbacks, and sign-offs.
- Balance experience design vision with Workday platform constraints and technical feasibility.
Workday Functional Consulting (Compensation / Talent / Benefits)
- Lead solution design and configuration for Workday Advanced Compensation, including compensation plans, eligibility, guidelines, budgets, proration, and review cycles.
- Configure and support Workday Talent, Performance, Succession, Learning, and Benefits modules.
- Ensure alignment across Core HCM, Security, Business Processes, Payroll, Reporting, and integrations.
- Support Workday releases, feature adoption, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
AI Enablement & Digital Experience
- Support AI-enabled capabilities and intelligent features within the Workday ecosystem.
- Contribute to integrating AI-driven use cases into Workday workflows.
- Design cohesive experiences across Workday, HR Assist/chatbot tools, manager tools, and communication channels.
Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track success metrics such as:
- New Hire Experience Score
- Time-to-Productivity
- Task Completion Rates
- Manager Satisfaction
- Establish continuous improvement processes to optimize employee journeys.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Workday HCM / Workday Onboarding / HR Technology
- Strong expertise in Workday UX, Human-Centered Design, and Journey Mapping
- Hands-on experience with Workday Business Process Configuration
- Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation, Talent Management, and Benefits
- Strong knowledge of Service Design, Experience Blueprints, and Process Simplification
- Experience with Cross-Functional Program Delivery and Stakeholder Management
- Understanding of Workday AI Enablement (preferred)
- Strong facilitation, workshop leadership, and consulting skills
- Experience balancing design vision with platform capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Workday Certifications in HCM, Talent, Performance, Learning, or Compensation
- Experience with Workday Studio X or related UX engagements
- Prior consulting or enterprise transformation experience preferred
