Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal SDET to lead and transform Quality Engineering practices across UI, API, services, and data layers. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership, focusing on building scalable automation frameworks, enabling continuous testing, and driving AI-powered quality engineering.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in financial services or wealth management domains, ensuring high-quality releases in complex, data-driven systems.

Key Responsibilities

UI & Backend Automation Leadership

• Architect and develop enterprise-grade automation frameworks for:
• UI/Web Applications (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
• APIs & Microservices (REST / GraphQL)
• Establish automation standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks
• Integrate automation into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines with quality gates
• Improve test stability, reduce flaky tests, and optimize execution
• Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance testability and observability
• Mentor and guide SDETs to elevate automation maturity

Data Quality & Backend Validation (Core Focus)

• Design and implement data validation frameworks across:
• Databases
• Data pipelines & integrations
• Validate:
• Data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reconciliation
• ETL/ELT transformations
• Batch jobs and file-based integrations (CSV, JSON, XML)
• Build reusable validation utilities using SQL, Python, or Java
• Implement automated reconciliation for financial/transactional systems
• Integrate data quality checks into CI/CD pipelines
• Identify data anomalies proactively before production

Azure DevOps & Platform Enablement

• Drive quality engineering practices within Azure environments
• Design test strategies, pipelines, and execution models in Azure DevOps
• Define test stages, reporting standards, and quality gates
• Ensure traceability across requirements, testing, and releases

AI-Driven Quality Engineering

• Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to:
• Accelerate test creation
• Improve automation quality
• Analyze failures and trends
• Establish governance and best practices for AI usage in QA
• Promote AI-driven productivity across QE teams

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 10+ years in SDET / Test Automation / Quality Engineering
• Strong coding experience in:
• Python / Java / JavaScript (TypeScript)
• Expertise in:
• UI Automation (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
• API Testing (REST, GraphQL, Microservices)
• Data Quality Testing & Validation
• Advanced SQL skills (data validation, reconciliation, transformations)
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps preferred)
