Developer – Android MDM Platform
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms and Android Enterprise mobility solutions. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing backend services that support enterprise device management solutions across Android environments.
The role requires hands-on experience with Android enterprise mobility frameworks, backend microservices architecture, and MDM platform administration to manage device lifecycle, compliance policies, and secure mobile device operations.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with Android Management API, Microsoft Intune, and modern backend technologies such as Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile Device Management Administration
- Manage and administer enterprise MDM environments using platforms such as Microsoft Intune, Kaseya VSA, or Quest KACE Cloud.
- Configure, deploy, and manage Android mobile devices and enterprise applications.
- Monitor device compliance, patch levels, and software update deployments.
- Implement mobile device security configurations including encryption and hardening policies.
Android Enterprise & Device Lifecycle Management
- Implement and manage enterprise mobility solutions using Android Management API.
- Work with the Android Enterprise framework for enterprise device provisioning and management.
- Oversee complete device lifecycle management including:
- Device provisioning and enrollment
- Policy enforcement
- Compliance monitoring
- OS updates and patching
- Secure device decommissioning
Backend Platform Development
- Design and develop backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable microservices-based architectures for device management platforms.
- Implement event-driven architecture using Apache Kafka.
- Develop high-performance APIs using REST, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers.
Cloud & Integration
- Develop backend integrations using REST APIs, JSON policy configuration, and webhook-based event processing.
- Integrate MDM systems with enterprise platforms including:
- Identity providers
- Security systems
- Enterprise IT infrastructure
- Manage secure connectivity with mobile devices including certificates, VPN configurations, and authentication mechanisms.
Monitoring & System Health
- Monitor the health and performance of the MDM environment.
- Conduct regular audits, patch management, and system updates.
- Troubleshoot device enrollment, policy enforcement, and connectivity issues.
Documentation & Training
- Develop technical documentation for system architecture, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide training and technical guidance to IT teams and end users.
- Create operational runbooks and troubleshooting guides for support teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience working with MDM / EMM platforms.
- Hands-on expertise with Android Management API.
- Deep understanding of the Android Enterprise ecosystem.
- Experience managing Android device lifecycle and compliance policies.
- Proficiency in backend development using:
- Kotlin
- Spring Boot
- Experience with event streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka.
- Strong database experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Experience with:
- Microservices architecture
- REST APIs
- gRPC
- Protocol Buffers
- JSON policy configuration
- Experience integrating systems using webhooks and enterprise identity providers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with MDM platforms such as Kaseya VSA or Quest KACE Cloud.
- Knowledge of enterprise security configurations for mobile devices.
- Experience managing large-scale Android device deployments.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and enterprise mobility security frameworks.
